| | Write Up: Carl, Bob, Manfred and I (an average age of perhaps 57), headed up the snowy Kindersly Pass trail on a beautiful, crisp and sunny morning (-11C). At the pass (7,251'), good views of the Brisco Range and we headed west to the ridge for a view of our destination, side-slipping on frozen ground with snow over our knees. Carl pulls out his secret weapon - a sweet pair of light weight Katoola Microspikes. The rest of us are envious and not convinced that we are in for a D1 kind of day. When I start talking about that it should be possible to self arrest on steep, slippery grassy slopes, the group finally decides on Plan B. We made our way to the Kindersley - Sinclair Col (7,841') and Carl encourages us to ascended another 400' to the summit on the SE. By this time a gentle little snow squall had engulfed us, so views were pleasantly atmospheric (at least we had a super view of Assinaboine on the drive there). Sinclair Creek loop trail was also good fast travel and the snow actually made for a nice cushion for knees. Larch needles were just on their way out and lots of fresh animal tracks. All in all a fun "fall" day with great companions, a total of 20 KM and over 4000'.
